Day Four: Bremen

We woke up and hopped on our short 3 hour train to Bremen, the city of the Bremen Town Musicians, a Grimm brother's fairy tale I read in German many many moons ago...

The Bremen Town Musician Statue!!!

The statue is located right off of the main square, surrounded by gorgeous old buildings!

The ornate City Hall on the main square

The largest of the Roland statues in Germany! I am still of unsure of who Roland is...

Detail of the Merchant's Building on the main square

You pass through a small alleyway and suddenly come upon Böttcherstrasse, an old street revamped in Jugendstil style, filled with fun shops and restaurants

We found a homemade candy shop and I bought a deliciously sugary Pear Lollipop!

The Glockenspiel in Böttcherstrasse

Hail to the Victors!

We wandered over to the Rhine and the sun came out!

From the waterfront, we turned into the Schnoor Viertel (or Quarter), the oldest part of Bremen and the most adorable, filled with little mom and pop shops and fun cafes

We stopped into one for pastries and ended up getting a slice of their enchanting torte, that easily rivaled Landtmann's in Vienna!

Gung hai fat choi!!! For Chinese New Year, we went to one of the 3 Chinese places in town and I had their special New Years buffet! Nom nom nom...

As part of the special New Years Buffet, I got to pick a red envelope and if it contained a number I won a prize! Guess who had a number?!
